India hasn’t got any medals till now at Rio Olympics 2016, but this might be not forever as P V sindhu (Pusarla venkata sindhu)Badminton Player has secured her position at semifinals in women`s single. Sindhu is the second Indian to feat that achievement at summer Olympics after Saina Nehwal. Saina nehwal won bronze medal at London Olympics 2012 as she was defeated my Wang yihan.
This time Sindhu has defeated tai tzu-ying of Taiwan and she has also defeated Wang yihan of China who is former World Champion and Olympic Medalist. Wang Yihan is currently ranking second in women`s single badminton.
Sindhu has won many medals at international badminton tournament and she is considered as a first ever Indian Women`s singles player to win medal at world championship.
At semifinals sindhu is going to compete with japanese badminton player Nozomi Okuhara who is winner of All England badminton championship.
