First Dipa karmakar, and now sakshi malik from india has created history at Rio Olympics 2016 by becoming the First Indian Female Wrestler to win the medal at Olympics in Freestyle wrestling .She is also India`s fourth female athlete ever to win and Olympics medal.
At the age of 12 she started her training of wrestling and at age 23 she is having Olympic Medal, this achievement is an outcome of her 12 years of hard work. She is from small village Rohtak in Haryana so, she and her coach has to face many opposition from locals due to sport they were encouraging which is not for Women.
She has won bronze and silver medal commonwealth champion ship at 2013 Johannesburg and 2014 Glasgow. Apart from that she has won bronze medal at asian championship 60 kg category of women wrestler.
In may 2016 she was qualified at Rio Olympics in the category of 58 kg freestyle wrestling. She won Bronze medal at finals by beating Aisuluu Tynybekova.
