Navratri brings full pack of energy and happpiness in the
life of people. After the nine days of navratri, here comes the Dussehra the tenth
day which is also called as Vijayadashami. Beside happiness in life of people,
Evilness is always present in the soul of them. So to kill that evilness which is
inside of them, people burn the Ravaan
and with the good deeds.
The main purpose of celebrating Dussehra is always to kill the devil hiding in all the people, according to hindu mythology. Many Years ago on the day of dussehra, Lord Rama killed the Ravan which represents the fight of Good vs Evil. And another example of good vs evil is that Goddess Durga killed Demon Mahisasur, as a result of which, In Bengal Dussehra is popularly celebrated as Durga Pooja.
After the twenty day of Dussehra, Diwali is celebrated which is considered as a New Year in Hindu Culture. Diwali is celebrated because Lord Ramma Came back to Ayodhya , after completion of his vanvaas and killing the Ravan.
Muhrat for Durga pooja and Ravan Dahan(Burning of a look alike ravaan Statue made up of wood and cardboard) is much important.
